GOP's 'Obamacare' repeal all but dead; McCain deals the blow

Sen. John McCain declared his opposition Friday to the GOP's last-ditch effort to repeal and replace "Obamacare," dealing a likely death blow to the legislation and, perhaps, to the Republican Party's years of vows to kill the program. It was the second time in three months the 81-year-old McCain emerged as the destroyer of his party's signature promise to voters.

"I believe we could do better working together, Republicans and Democrats, and have not yet really tried," McCain said of the bill, co-written by Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, his best friend in the Senate, and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana. "Nor could I support it without knowing how much it will cost, how it will affect insurance premiums, and how many people will be helped or hurt by it."

McCain, who is battling brain cancer in the twilight of a remarkable career, said he could not "in good conscience" vote for the legislation.

This 2008 clip told you all you needed to know about this scumbag traitorous prick:

"I have to tell you. Sen. Obama is a decent person and a person you don't have to be scared of him as president of the United States"

That "gasp" from the crowd was their realization that the GOPe betrayed them, and it was far too late.

There will be no mourning in our house when he dies. McCain makes Benedict Arnold look like George Washington.

I blame Arizona voters.

They want a big name Senator, more than what is best for the future of the country. Same for Nevada, when they voted in Reed over and over.

Yeah, McCain talks up the military yet Arizona has one of the worse VA hospitals in the country. Gee, I wonder if he’s being treated for his cancer at the Phoenix VA facility? Sarc/

Songbird Johnny McCain has always been a selfish, vindictive traitor.

I would hope the truth of how McCainus acted in the Hanoi Hilton is exposed by his fellow prisoners soon.

You just don’t show this traitorous personality just once, I bet he was a traitor in prison.

We know he was one of the Keating 5 and used his “hero” status to get away with being a crook, so nothing negative about this fraud would surprise me.

The first Soviet ace of the Vietnam Era has always been a traitor.

Thanks to Johnny and Kerry shutting down the POW/MIA investigations in 1992, we’ll never know the fate of 100s of POWs we left behind in 1973.

I hope he sees the faces of each one when he travels t meet his Maker.

BTW, anyone thinks he is really going to die of brain cancer?

A miraculous cure will be announced soon, while all other 81 year old brain cancer victims are told to go home and die.

FUJMc.

"I believe we could do better working together, Republicans and Democrats, and have not yet really tried," McCain said of the bill, co-written by Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, his best friend in the Senate, and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana.

Mr. McCain, no one has stopped the Democrats from stepping up to the plate to provide responsible health insurance to the people of this country.

On the other hand, you, Mr. McCain, cannot work with your Republican colleagues, or keep the promises you made to your constituents.

Are you not ashamed of yourself? Please resign from the Senate and let someone else do the job you refuse to do for the people of Arizona, and the people of the USA who desperately need health care.

Please get past the hate you have for our president and do the right thing.

When he said something like “the fundamentals of the economy are strong” in September 2008 while Lehman Brothers had been daily headlines for weeks, I figured he didn’t even want the job any more, and that Obama would be the winner.
