“Am I the only one who thinks this is possible?”
You would have the illegals as your primary customers. They are cash only, almost exclusively.

If the prices were low I wouldn’t mind paying cash myself.

As it is between Medicare and Humana they take ober $200 out of my check each month.
I would prefer to keep that money, pay a small amount for a major medical policy and pay a small amount when I visit the doctor, usually three times a year.

Timely post. My brother wound up in a local er last night. He recently had brain surgery and was having seizures. I go up there and walk into the er and the waiting room is full of Mexicans, probably illegals since we have them coming out our ears here. Every chair in the er had a Mexican in it. Every name called for the triage nurse was a Hispanic surname.

“At the same time, many uninsured people have come to rely on emergency room care. Under the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act of 1986, hospitals are required to screen and stabilize patients regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay, which means hospitals often end up absorbing the costs associated with those patients. This is called “bad debt.”
