Bleacher Report ^ | 22-Sept-2017 | Mike Chiari

French Sports Minister Laura Flessel said Thursday it is possible France will skip the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, due to security concerns.

According to Reuters, Flessel told RTL radio that if "our security cannot be assured, the French team will stay at home." Worldwide tension continues to mount as the United States and North Korea engage in concerning rhetoric regarding nuclear capabilities.

Flessel made it clear no decision has been made at this point, saying, "We're not there yet."

I'm beginning to think Olympics will become a thing of the past in a couple years.

Certainly, the 2018 Olympics in South Korea....is just plain stupid.

I look forward to the day when countries stop sending teams to the Olympics for other reasons ... like the Olympics just plain suck, for example.

Yes; if they’re not going to deport refugees they should just cringe in their houses and never have any public events.

2018 Winter Olympics are going to be held close to the DMZ -- about the same distance from the DMZ with North Korea as Seoul is from the DMZ.

Slated for February, 2018 -- which is not too many months away...

Honestly I can’t imagine a safer time to be in South Korea than during the Olympics. If Lil’ Kim does ANYTHING at all to affect the games, he will instantly lose any support he has from anyone, including China and Russia. (After all, their athletes will be competing there too.) Trump will have carte blanche to retaliate to the maximum extent and the world will cheer him on.

They already hosted the Summer Olympics in 1988.

Yup. Paris has the 2024 Summer Olympics. Unless they are a part of the caliphate by then.
