I don’t get Trump on this. I don’t see how he’s getting anything for this. Moore is clearly the better person in this. It’s sickening to see millions of contributors dollars to damage a Republican in a Primary. Where’s this kind of effort to take out the Rats?
Regardless of the outcome, Trump will either get a good conservative Senator or one who owes him bigly. And if Moore wins, Trump’s having tightened up the race costs him nothing yet gives Trump the ability to go to the GOPe Senators and say look, I pulled out all the stops for your guy but business as usual is not what the people want. Now get on board and support my legislation.

McConnell doesn’t mind so much that Dims pick up Senate seats. He’s obsessed, however, with keeping conservatives out of the chamber.
