State regulators have approved the largest health insurance premium increase in the four-year history of New Mexicos subsidized exchange, Superintendent of Insurance John Franchini said Wednesday.
About 55,000 New Mexico residents sign up each year for federally subsidized insurance through the states exchange, known as beWellnm.
Average premium increases for 2018 will range from 36 percent to 41 percent for midlevel insurance coverage, according to an analysis by the Office of the Superintendent of Insurance. The full range of premium increases runs from 17 percent to just over 49 percent.
This is the largest increase in the last four years, Franchini said.

I remember when I used to have health insurance. I had to worry about this sort of stuff more than actually needing it.

Does anyone remember what STATES got more then their fair share of money for insurance......I remember there were some sweetheart deals made for several states and also that the $$$$ would run out which is why we are here now. Obbie made sure he was out of office when the bill came due

We grew up with no health insurance in the 1950s. You paid the doctor when you were sick, which was rare because we ate healthy food which we grew on our farm and we got plenty of exercise in the fresh air while we worked the land.
The nation is going to go bankrupt trying to pay the healthcare costs of people who eat too much and work too little. It is not natural.

I first read that as medieval, what is probably more accurate, anyway.

I’m not an expert on it, but if they are government subsidized plans, it would be hard for me to believe the taxpayers won’t get the shaft on this mining expedition.
