I'm residing in Ocean Beach, which is "a vibrant, bohemian neighborhood, with a classic SoCal beach vibe. Surfers and sunbathers fill the namesake beach, while Ocean Beach Pier is a popular local fishing spot with sweeping views. Nearby Newport Avenue is lined with antiques shops, beachwear and surf boutiques, organic groceries, Mexicann, Sushi, and hamburger places, bars, and brewpubs. The Ocean Beach Farmers Market features live music every Wednesday & Sunday." On those days a portion of the downtown streets are closed to traffic.

The beach is 1 mile long, very wide, but broken in parts by rock jetties and one part is where I hang out, (Dog Beach) and I live very close to it. This is where I take my French Bulldog, Louie 5 days a week.

Lifeguard Tower 5 divides the People Beach from Dog Beach. Dog Beach is down the slope to the right and runs all the way to the next jetty, which is a huge one that fronts the channel into Mission Beach!

To the left, Ocean Beach runs into Sunset Cliffs, but before that, the famous Ocean Beach Pier.

It's all lovely and beautifully kept.

I'm only going to stay here another year, even though this is my home. I was born and raised right near here, on a dry-docked houseboat, but CA has gone to Hell, even San Diego. I am convinced, there is no way to ever reverse the damage or to "right the ship." It's too far gone. The cost of living exceeds the Cayman Islands where my daughter lives and after 28 years on Grand Cayman, she is leaving to reside in Mississippi in my house and I have decided to join her when my lease is up here.

You know, it's funny. Well, not funny, but strange. After 400 plus days on the market, my house had finally sold, but when it came time for me to "agree to terms" and actually finalize everything, I choked. I could not sell it. I changed my mind. I backed out. The buyer was paying MY price! LOL. The buyer was purchasing a lot of my furniture at MY price! LOL. Thank God, I had not signed anything!

Two days later my daughter called to tell me that she wanted to leave the island to move to Mississippi ... God works in mysterious ways. Her house has already sold without putting it on the market. She merely mentioned her plans to her neighbor and "snap" --- 4 parties in a bidding war.

It’s my Staten Island.
You would appreciate it.
Crying shame the democrats & illegals have ruined this state.
