The September 19th episode of American Horror Story: Cult took on such weighty issues as gun rights, racism, and cisnormative guinea pigs. The episode "Neighbors From Hell" picks up right where the last episode left off, with Ally (Sarah Paulson) having just accidentally shot and killed her wife's employee Pedro when he dropped by the house unexpectedly. In the aftermath, these weighty issues are debated in the town and in the household.
Having just killed an innocent man on her front porch when she thinks she is being attacked, Ally believes she's going to be in big trouble with the law. She is quickly reminded, however, that they live in a state (Michigan) which has Stand Your Ground laws, which are portrayed as a license to shoot whomever she likes.
The locals don't agree, however, and begin to protest, calling her the "lesbian George Zimmerman." Not only did she kill an innocent man, but he's Hispanic. So was George Zimmerman, of course, but the media called him a white hispanic (whatever that means) to make it seem as though a white man killed the black Trayvon Martin.

NON print version:
There is a heavy layer of satire and liberal criticism that people are missing.
I’ve watched previous years of AHS. I’ll be watching until the point it becomes truly ridiculous. It mocks the snowflakes pretty well up until now.
They already had a great line about “why didn’t CNN give us a trigger warning before announcing the result” and several good shots at Jill Stein, so its been quite entertaining.
I started watching the episodes on recommendation from Rush, talking about the actor snowflakes fear of Trump.
TURN OFF YOUR TV. Stop feeding the beast.
Turning off the TV only punishes the electric company. How about your entertain yourself you way and I’ll entertain myself mine?
Uh, that just might be TMI bigbob. ;-)
Stopped reading right there.
Holy cow!
The show is so overly coated in satire and sarcasm for “the stupid” on both sides. But it’s no surprise to me that the snowflakes can’t see it. The cognitive dissonance is strong in them.
Think of it as a live-action South Park where nothing is sacred.
Didn’t watch any of the other seasons, but kind of hooked on this one. Can’t think the Rats are happy about the emotionally fraught Dem being called a racist for an accidental killing.
Is the satire on purpose or are they so wrapped up in the narrative they don’t see it?
The writing is intentional. It is the reviewers are the ones that still can’t see it.
I ask because there are so many lefties on the show. Lefties don’t typically mock themselves or their causes.
I missed the first episode because I figured it wasn’t something I needed to watch. Previews made it look like a Trump- bashing effort. I wound up watching the second episode on a motel TV that had few channels. It’s actually pretty funny...and shows how ridiculous libs are.
