Used to live in the Middle East, where the blaring from the minaret would rouse me from a sound sleep at 5am. Incredible that this is permitted in Brooklyn. Do you think they would tolerate it for a minute if some church decided to clang its bells at the crack of dawn? It is a symbol of Muslim dominance. Be afraid people, be very afraid.
Well, on the bright side, I’m sure it won’t be long before there will be Easter Sunday church bells ringing in Mecca.

Poor concrete before 7:00 AM in Austin and you WILL get a ticket. I hope once the Muslim prayers start every concrete truck in Austin starts whirring at the same time.
One thing I noticed for the first call in the ME was all the dogs in the neighborhood would chime in. After some enterprising young soul changed the tape in Northern Turkey and it blared out ‘We Will Rock You’ at 0500, it was quite quickly forbidden to use a recording. No sense of humor.
