WASHINGTON — New guidance released Friday by the Pentagon makes it clear that any transgender troops currently in the military can re-enlist in the next several months, even as the department debates how broadly to enforce a ban on their service ordered by President Donald Trump.
In a memo to top military leaders, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said a high-level panel will determine how to implement Trump’s ban on transgender individuals in the military. Trump directed the military to indefinitely extend the ban on transgender individuals enlisting in the service, but he left it up to Mattis to decide if those currently serving should be allowed to stay

I'm beginning to think that Mattis is the the Commander in Chief and not Trump, or maybe McMaster, maybe Kelly. I don't give a damn what it is he seems to be ignored. Allowing "transgenders" to reenlist while they wait for Mattis' "guidance" on how he's "implementing" the president's order is ridiculous. Mattis knows damn good and well that people with mental disorders have no business being in the military. He needs to go ahead and tell every one of these people that they're being discharged. The president needs to call the Sec of Defense into his office and let him know he was given an order and to carry out that order or be replaced. This is insanity the way Trump is ignored. The president of the US and they laugh at him.

Does Secretary Mattis know what the word “ban” means? It means to prohibit, forbid, veto, proscribe, disallow, outlaw, make illegal, embargo, bar, debar, block, stop, suppress, interdict, enjoin, restrain.
It does not mean “to set up a panel to discuss the issue”.

He hadn’t begun really to Drain the Swamp ( especially Snake Department Nazis and islamonazis , defense military security and intelligence obama enemy agents, moles, AA appointees ). He’s stymied by the mavericks renegades and rinos in congress. And he set up AND IS STILL ALLOWING a political investigation/ special prosector — not of HilLIARy. Not of Debbie wasserman Schultz. EXACTLY- He knows better but apparently doesn’t give a damn that he is endangering all the other soldiers that have to work alongside mentally ill people
Mattis and the rest of the Obama generals are liberals. Mattis wants to implement Obama’s executive order to allow the mentally disturbed to stay in the military. He knows damn well they are no benefits, but only detriments to allowing this travesty to continue. An executive order allowed this BS. An executive order can undue it. You don’t let someone reenlist if you have they’re gonna be out of the service in a few months. It makes no sense.

not only that but it’s the mental instability of many of these people out on the battlefield- These people can’t even come to grips with their own birth gender for crying out loud- they are mentally damaged people- who feel entitled by the way- because people like mattis keep reinforcing the lie that they are special

Mattis is definitely not old corp. He is a PC general, we will see how PCism plays out on the battle field.
It will take a very long time to rid the military and all Federal agencies of the deeply embedded Obama commissars. They will not resign or go willingly.Yet until they are purged, Trump will not be able to implement his policies.
Delays often become permanent.
All these military guys that Trump appointed....Mattis, McMaster, Kelly....are no good.
The only one who was worth a damn was General Flynn, and the powers that be couldn’t wait to force him out.
