It looks like the Eye Wall Replacement Cycle is incompletely happening.
The outer eyewall (125 mph?) is not whole and neither is the inner eyewall (168 ?). I don’t see one feeding into the other or one dropping away as I have seen in other hurricanes.
The outer eyewall is hitting the west end of St Croix but it looks like the inner eyewall will miss. It looks like the NWS-NHC prediction of Frederiksted at 121 MPH will be accurate.

Looks like they may have to adjust the forecast a bit to the west now. I’d be a lot more nervous if I lived in the Dominican Republic right now.
