This is a busy season, fer sure. Added to the fact that we’ve had more than a decade of hurricane quiet in the U.S. We are all older than we were back in 2004 and 2005, and many are a little bit rusty.

LOL—I think these names were chosen long before POTUS Trump was a glimmer in the eye of the tropical storm nomenclature.

Good grief! Truer words...

I spent twice as long cleaning up half as much so far- and took more breaks! This whole passage of time thing is nonsense that doesn’t fit with my plans.

Strategy: More Chocolate.

OMG—I never saw my chocolate stash through the entire Irmageddon experience. Yikes—it can’t be more than a dark brown sticky gooey mess now. Gotta find it...

I wish you strength. We had a late autumn ice storm up here a few years back and it downed trees and power lines everywhere. We had no power for a week and we spent days with chainsaws clearing the driveway so we could get out. Add to that work, sick family members, pets...it is a trial.

There is something I have always wondered, and I am sure some smart person will tell me: why in the 21st Century do we not put our power lines underground? I know it will cost a fortune in labor and permissions, but are we not losing a fortune every time we get a hurricane or an ice storm? I’m sure there is a reason, but I still wonder why we still hang wires on poles and wait for them to get knocked down.

Lee developed into a named storm first. It looks like a fish. All very confusing...

why in the 21st Century do we not put our power lines underground?

Florida has some underground electrical wires. Problem, however, is that Florida's water table is so high, that the wires have problems being underground.

Jose won’t cross the border but Maria will come over the fence somewhere.

Found the chocolate in the storm supply box. Never opened, so how bad could it be in several days of 87-93ºF hot house?

Lucky you.

I gained 5 lbs in the days leading up to Irma. I think I ate my weight in Reeses peanut butter cups and Cape Cod chips.

Now we’re talking about one positive outcome from Irma...Have lost at least six pounds...too stressed, then too hot to eat.
