I read not long ago that 4 of the 5 richest, and 7 of the ten richest, counties in the US are suburbs of DC.

One would thing that it would be NYC...Chicago...Philly...or San Francisco. But it's the one major city that produces nothing but paperwork.

And to think that some wonder why DC,Virginia and Maryland go so reliably to Rats.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. In a fascist political-economic system, the government is the largest “industry” no matter how useless and unproductive it is.

If you drive up to the origin (it’s worth a five-day stop), the four counties/regions ought to be Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, and Georgetown (westside of DC). So then you drive to Montgomery County, MA and Prince George County, MA, and cross over the river to eastern Washington DC’s Anacosta neighbor (don’t stop for any reason). It’s like two separate countries.

I worked with an older guy who’d bought a Arlington house in the early 1970s for around $60k. Brick, ranch-type home, nothing special other than a big yard....today it’s worth probably in the range of $500,000.

If you go and do voting demographics...it’s probably 75-percent Democrat. Then you drive out 20 miles...toward Leesburg and Dumfries....it’s 75-percent GOP.
