As long as they know that doesn’t mean they have made it “into the USA”. That shouldn’t be a backdoor into green card status.
Puerto Ricans, who are U.S. citizens, are taking in refugees from the U.S. Virgin Islands, who are U.S. citizens. No green cards required.
They are US citizens helping other US citizens. They could all come to the mainland and move in to your neighborhood...no visa or green card required.
Oh, for heaven’s sakes. This is a catastrophe and Puerto Rico is stepping up. Let them sort it out after everyone’s lives have been saved.
