The STORMTracker Weather Team says a major storm system is on track to deliver heavy snow and significant rain to Montana.
Cooler air is already spilling south out of Canada and temperatures will get even colder on Thursday and Friday.
This storm is expected to be the beginning of the end of fire season across the state.

Damn Canadians! Keep your crap up there!
Blame global warming too. It causes lots of cold weather. 😀😆😄🇵🇭

I think a thank you to those Canucks is in order.
In fact, perhaps I’ll take off up there myself to the Great White North and do it in person!

Those Canadians will probably send a bunch of their damn dirty geese too.
You are absolutely right. We very much need this wet cold weather. The smoke in the air here is horrible from all the fires we have going on. Very unhealthy.
Always. A college around me installed a shotgun blast sound system that the coach can set off from the dugout. They scatter fast! LOL!
But wait...Algore said this can’t happen...we’re supposed to be burnin up?!

Is Montana having fires?
Thank goodness for some relief.
A friend of mine in Helena says it’s in the 40s and raining right now.
300,000+ acres of fires!

It’s a beauty way to go, eh!
so the snow is a blessing.
We dropped our daughter off to school in Missoula - they have two large fires nearby and the smoke just hangs in the valley. I thought she was going to have to endure until October - so hopefully this will help. She did say just the other day that it has been cooler, and the smoke not so bad. I know just having the lower temperatures helps a lot in getting the fires to slow.
All of our trips in the last 20+ years across the west during the summer its the same story though - smoky skies from all of the fires somewhere.
Yeah - the smoke has been brutal this year. Started getting better this week. Really needed this weather. Good chance for snow at the house tomorrow.
That’s great news.
