A Georgia teacher who told students in her math class that are not allowed to wear Make America Great Again T-shirts because the campaign slogan was akin to a swastika, will no longer be teaching in the classroom.
Lyn Orletsky was seen on a viral video telling at least two River Ridge High School students in Cherokee County that wearing the slogan made popular during President Donald Trumps 2016 was like wearing the symbol of Nazism, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
The Cherokee County School District, quickly released an apology and said that the students were not in any trouble.

Here's the incident:
How many Orletskys are native to GA? I’m betting she’s a displaced NY’er who moved there to infiltrate the school system.
I wonder how long before the teachers (union) in that school district call for banning cell phones in school.
Make America Poor Again would have been fine with her.
...”How many Orletskys are native to GA? Im betting shes a displaced NYer who moved there to infiltrate the school system.”...
Bet you are right.
It's nice to see the bad guys and girls lose for a change.
Better idea is to put video camera’s with audio capabilities in every class room. Then and only then can they have the phones banned from school. I see no need for kids to have phones in class but I definitely want to watch these teachers like a hawk.
Hmm not teaching in the classroom may not be terminated.
Probably promoted to management I’d wager. Sneaking.
Most schools in the south are hard-pressed to find math teachers, so they take what they can get. In her case, she’ll probably have to leave the state and move somewhere in the Northeast.
Another enemy agent gives her career to promote hatred of Trump. WINNING!
Great for the Cherokee County Schools...
TWO cameras. One in back, viewing the teacher's area, and one in the front viewing the students. Both linked to internet. Accessible to school administrators AND parents via. password.
I suspect both student attention and teacher performance would increase seriously.
Even if the teacher professes to be conservative that Marxist training and indoctrination leaks through into the classroom.
The PROPER response is for every male in the class to come in the next day wearing MAGA shirts or hats.
And KEEP wearing them, every damned day.
Just because.
Some might think you make a joke, but I really do believe there is a coordinated effort by the left (commies) to mess up our kids.... What else could explain the extreme secularism of our youth today..???
Another Reason to Homeschool
Good lord. The canned homeschooler’s response to *every* article posted about public schools. Even when the culture war wins a battle in the classroom.
I’ve been saying it for years. The culture war will be fought, and won, in the public schools.
To cede the battlefield to the enemy, and remove your voice from the battle, only serves to afford the enemy easy victories.
You may teach and raise your kids perfectly, but they are going to be outvoted at the ballot box in a landslide.
Stand and fight.
she is still listed in the high school web site as a math teacher. maybe they pulled her from the classroom but they are keeping her in a non-teaching position and/or have held off firing her due to teacher union intervention (would not surprise me).
what is interesting is that the teacher addresses the issue with an air of impunity in the video. therefore it seems likely that
1. the teacher has handled similar issues in the past in the same manner as depicted in the video— it is just that no evidence exists for similar behavior in the past.
2. the incident may have been, to some degree, staged by students. if so the plan would have been that two students wore MAGA t-shirts to the class while a third took the video to film results, if any. if events transpired in this manner, then obviously, the teacher had exhibited similar behavior in the past and this time, the teacher took the bait. the videotaping student affirmed that the teacher
3. it’s ok for students to film video in class at this high school— sometimes that may not necessarily be the case and if so then students risk disciplinary action for taking videos in class.
4. if the teacher handled the incident as a matter of course, then there was and still may be a systematic problem at the school and at other schools in that district and/or served by a local teacher’s union (if any). if so, the teacher is merely reflecting biases of her teacher peer group (TPG). The dominant TPG paradigm would be thus, that trump is to be equated to a nazi. from the TPG perspective, this paradigm is OK to promulgate in a public school classroom with impunity. if so, this dominant TPG paradigm is the real problem at the high school, and needs to be confronted by high school administration openly, immediately, and honestly. Conservative and libertarian students at the high school were probably victimized in an institutional manner for an unknown length of time and to an unknown degree. If it were not for the bravery of the students, then the victimization — conservative and libertarian students being pilloried for their political beliefs in a public institution of learning— would likely still be going on today with impunity in the high school and many other high schools in that locality.
