I taught first aid for the Red Cross for a number of years. They wanted $10 from each person to cover the cost of the card (which I filled out and gave to the student) and $20 for a book. As folks in my area weren’t exactly rolling in money, I maintained a stack of books and let students use them. I was told I couldn’t do that, that was one of the few ways the Red Cross had for making money...
For me, the red crosses 9/11 behavior sealed their fate. I will NEVER EVER give them a single cent. And I tell people who DO support them to investigate how the Red Cross distributes donations.
