The early days of ESPN were groundbreaking and I watched it as much as MTV. Both have fallen considerably and are unwatchable. The people they hire are absolute imbeciles and they have jumped the shark.
A heckler a few days before the big game at an dinner event honoring Joe Namath: “The Colts are gonna kick your asses!” Joe right back: “Hey, I got news for you, we’re gonna win Sunday, I guarantee you!” Now the Colts were monsters in ‘68. 13 and 1 and looked at by the ‘experts’ as one of Pro Football’s greatest all time teams. They were favored by about 15-19 or so points over NY in SBIII. The Jet’s head coach, (And ex Colt’s head coach), Weeb Ewbank, got his old jock in a twist over ‘The Guarantee’, thinking that the Colts had just got a big motivation line from Joe to put up in their locker room wall, but Joe cooled him off, told him no problem, we ARE gonna win!!! And they DID!!! Damn, now I’m all charged up! I’m gonna go mix up an adult beverage, or 6, and hit YouTube for the Super Bowl 111 video.....again!!! Go Joe!

It was the Charger/Bronco game. She had a deep voice but looked female (in pregame shots) and did a decent job.
