I heard he will never fully recover from his head injury. Not that he had that much to work with in the first place. Big time wacko lib.

Take out all the curse words in his books and it’d save countless trees.

They might as well elect “It”.

I particularly enjoy reading King when he wanders into the world of firearms.
He describes a character in a book about vampires finding a .38 police revolver (the owner has been abducted by a bull vampire), prolly a Smith & Wesson.
A companion nervously expresses concern that the damn thing might go off. “Don’t worry. The safety’s on.” replies the hero.

In `Cell’ he writes about characters breaking into a “gun nut’s” home and finding a Kalashnikov, “capable of firing thousands of rounds in a few seconds.”

In a spoken book collection, the narrator describes B-52s flying over and carpet bombing Germany in WWII.
His Kennedy man-crush is also amusing. His stuff is full of such gems.
After sweating the Vietnam war draft, my theory is that he went all-in for the left, feeling completely cucked. He’s a moveable feast of mangled facts and neuroses.

He once purchased a local radio station in Bangor that was syndicating Rush Limbaugh...he then changed the format to ‘all sports’. Natch, another station (with a better signal) picked up Rush immediately.

Steven King is man who is very seriously rich, in an extremely poor area of the state. He does an incredible amount of good with his money - most of it anonymously (millions from an "anonymous benefactor" for the public library? Sure, could be anyone in the phone book....)

For these things he should be commended.

His politics, however, are atrocious. I'm not sure that he could get elected in Northern Maine. Pretty conservative folk up there.

King as governor would be a horrible, terrible, disastrous reality. Most folks think of him as good writer. He’s been a liberal’s liberal since his college days (late 1960’s). Maine would regress 30 years backwards. It’s bad enough to have the two liberal senators (Collins & King). We don’t need a high tax, pro-government control liberal writer. Thanks, but no thanks.

I personally believe that he doesn’t even write his own books anymore.
After reading It or whatever i noticed a change of writing style from his earlier books.
Probably his wife or son writes them now...

Steven would have to give up his Sarasota home, so one less jerk in Florida would be nice...😀

All of this conversation fails to note that there are already nine, yes nine democrats vieing for the dem nomination plus a green and at least one* independent running for governor. Three candidates are seeking the republican nomination.

Susan Collins is also considering a run as a republican or an independent. To run as an independent, she would have to unenroll by Jan 1. Personally, I think she will stay in the Senate.

A political commentator and change activist has hinted he is also considering a run as an independent. He apparently has some baggage I was unaware of.

This many candidates is not unusual for Maine. Eight years ago we had about 23 put there name in the hat between all of the parties and unenrolled. 1994 was about the same. 2002 was less because both the Dem and repub candidates running cleared the field.

I prefer Deann Koontz. King’s hostility to traditional American values is evident in his work.

Collins will lose the primary; she is not running. The GOP should discreetly fund & encourage that Green & Independent. They may be the difference between winning and losing.
