A CHAPPAQUIDDICK RECKONING AT LAST?
Powerlineblog ^ | 09/11/2017 | Steven Hayward

I paid no attention to the fact that Hollywood was producing a biopic of Ted Kennedy’s famous “accident” at Chappaquiddick in 1969, and would have assumed that it was a typical gauzy pro-Kennedy puff piece if I had known. But Variety magazine, the main trade journal of Hollywood, offers a review that not only says that the forthcoming movie Chappaquiddick is suitably harsh on Teddy, but that he—and the Kennedy reputation—deserve it:

The film says that what happened at Chappaquiddick was even worse than we think. Kopechne’s body was found in a position that implied that she was struggling to keep her head out of the water. And what the film suggests is that once the car turned upside down, she didn’t die; she was alive and then drowned, after a period of time, as the water seeped in. This makes Edward Kennedy’s decision not to report the crime a clear-cut act of criminal negligence — but in spirit (if not legally), it renders it something closer to an act of killing.

The Kennedy’s are like the Clinton’s in that, negative things can only be written long after they are dead. The moment Bill and Hillary have both checked out, we will see all the dirt from their horrible lives spread across the news. Not one moment sooner.

Having sex with the Kennedys was always very risky. If one could ask Marilyn Monroe

Anyone other than liberals who invest 2 hrs of their time to watch are idiots.

Hollywood’s not gonna turn on their kind...

It will end in this summary...

“We’ll never know the truth...it is sad she had to die this way, and many at the gathering were responsible and could have stopped Teddy from driving...but really we don’t even know factually who was behind the wheel...we shouldn’t judge Teddy too hard as his benefits to society outweighed any detracting actions...and, alcoholism is a disease.”

There, I saved everyone 2 hrs.

I agree. In many Administrations one of the first thing a Cabinet or insider does after they resign is write a tell all book. Not so with the Clintons.

The Hero of Chappaquiddick gets his bio-pic forty-plus years too late. Everyone who ever voted for him should be forced to watch it for at least 24 hours straight.

It will be sold as a ten volume set...

Don’t worry. They’ll change it to

Brave Teddy tried to save her. Brave Teddy risked his own life. Brave Teddy was the light of a generation. Brave Teddy created his own Camelot.

Exactly. With Democrats, every flaw, every wrong, and all corruption is masked until they are no longer in a position to hold power or are no more use to the leftist cause. Once that threshold is reached, and only then, will the media and others come out and agree what everyone else knows and has been talking about for years.

Moreover, only then will the corrupt media say, “See we are just as hard on Democrats as we are on Republicans. We treat everyone just as critically.” And just like CBS slightly and deliberately modified Steve Bannon’s image to make him appear sinister, we know the media is unceasingly corrupt and biased.

There's the nice, green patch of grass he's fertilizing, and without him Rush wouldn't have had the parody song "The Philanderer" on his show back in the day. Beyond that, I'm at a loss.

Well, the old man was a fan of Hitler. But that isn’t really a benefit is it?
