I’m no expert on Norwegian politics but it sounds to be like they’d fit in more with the center-right.
This article quotes some guy calling their leader “ a small wig away from Donald Trump.
But it states they are still more likely to side with Labour.
Thanks for sharing.
Liberals (U.S. style) subscribe to media to explain to them why they only “appear” to be losing. The article to which you referred me is an example.
The Center Party is not a left wing party. If shifted from the right-wing to the left-wing is order to secure its priorities, when that made sense. Good for them. The Progress Party rose up in a sense because the Center Party got too cozy with the left. This year, the Center Party seems to be re-thinking its position in the political spectrum.
Add the Center Party and the Progress and you have a pretty large bloc. So much for the “myth” that populist parties aren’t growing. They ARE growing. The Center Party, Conservatives and the Progress could form a government, freezing out the Liberals and the Christian Democrats, if those two parties get too pushy about their priorities. The Center Party is thinking they could get a sweet deal from such a coalition.
This is how European coalitions work. They make deals with each other.
