Republican Sen. Bob Corker weighing retirement, while another House Republican calls it quits

Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) is considering whether to run for reelection or retire, he said Monday, drawing fresh attention to a dilemma with far-reaching implications for his party.

Corker is an influential Republican who at times has clashed with President Trump. If he retires, it would probably put a seat that analysts expect to stay in GOP hands into a more uncertain state. It would also mark the end of the tenure of a well-respected member of the Republican Party’s mainstream governing wing, which has frequently collided with Trump and his nationalist, populist allies.

By "mainstream governing wing" they mean liberal, anti-conservative wing.

Every time some RINO calls it quits, the lamestream media takes that as proof that the seat is going Dhimmicrap.

I have two brothers that live in Tennessee and they can’t wait to vote against Corkhole and Limp Wrist Lamar even if it means a democrat wins. They despise these two liars worse than the democrats.

Maybe they could elect a real Republican instead of a Rhino Flake.

I would rather a Democrat has the seat than the traitor Corker.

100 times out of 100.

Remember, Corker is the one who turned the Treaty clause on it’s head, approving the Iranian nuke deal unless 2/3 of BOTH the House and the Senate voted to overturn it.

A higher threshold than impeachment.

Good riddance to Corker.
Of course, if he does retire he will retire before his term ends
so our RINO governor Haslam can appoint another RINO.

One brother called Alexanders office when he voted against repealing obamacare and demanded to know why he voted against it and lied during his last campaign. Oh said the staffer, “senator Alexander is firmly committed to repealing obamacare...” My brother said, he had the chance and wouldn’t do it after voting to do so when it meant nothing and promising to do so time and time again, why? Same answer replied the staffer. My brother then said good luck with that load of crap, I’ll vote for a democrat before I vote for that lying bastard of a boss you have!

He won when we really needed the seat. Could have gone either way. Ford may have won otherwise. Those days are over. Time to go for broke. So the question is: Who?

The Rinos need to be brought to heal.

I didn’t vote for Toomey in the last election. Couldn’t quite bring myself to vote for the dem candidate, but I didn’t vote for Toomey.

He won PA by a far smaller margin that Trump did. Think that didn’t resonate with him?

Toomey won his 2016 race by about 86,000 votes. Trump won by about 44,000.

I don't know why anyone would sit here of FreeRepublic and suggest that we'd be better off with Democrats in Congress than RINOs. I said last fall that Donald Trump would sign almost any bill that a Democrat Congress puts on his desk.

If we cannot get rid of anti-American traitors (not just traitors to the Republican party) in our own ranks, we have no reason to exist as a party.

And should be relegated to dust.

Yes, I would rather have a Democrat than Corker.

Wise up.

The only problem is that he will be a dangerous wounded Rino until January 2019 if he announces retirement. He won’t have to listen to the peons any more.

The replacement will still be subject to a vote in November 2018.

First, the GOP must die.

Everything else comes after that.
