Go somewhere sturdy that’s *not* underground. Storm cellars work great for tornadoes, can be a deathtrap for hurricanes.
If power goes out for a long time, cash is your very good friend. A few hundred in tens will get you through a week or two of managing at home. Canned goods and a manual can opener, packaged food, bottled water.
