Norway votes on the 11th.

This polling firm projects 43 seats for the Conservatives, 26 for the Progress Party, and 8 each for the Liberals and Christian Democrats, for a total of 85 seats.

And, 51 seats for Labor, 19 for the Center Party, 10 for the Socialists, 3 for the Greens and 1 for the Communists, for a total of 84 seats.

We would actually win a majority of the seats (by only 1 seat) with less of the popular vote than the other side (47.4 versus 50.9 percent).

Were it to turn out this way, it would be o.k., because we win. But, there is no guarantee of anything. In one day, we will see if this country continues on its steady course, or lurches to the left.

One wonders why the agrarian Centre Party sides with the socialists and why the liberal Venstre (”left”) party sides with the right.
