'The dogma lives loudly within you': The battle over Trump's effort to remake the courts

A whole heck of a lot happened this week in President Donald Trump's quest to reshape the federal judiciary.

The ongoing effort turned particularly hot this week as Democratic senators moved to block two of his circuit court nominations while two of his other nominees to top courts were grilled during a Capitol Hill hearing.

That hearing was followed up by Trump announcing his seventh wave of judicial nominees, an additional 15 names that are about to be submitted to the Senate, bringing the total number of district and circuit court judges he's nominated to roughly 50 — blowing far past the number of judicial nominations made at this stage of a presidency by any recent predecessors. That's in part due to the massive number of vacancies in the federal judiciary, which has swelled past 140.

Turtle douchebag thinks he is going to live off the Gorsuch confirmation.

Amazing how that slob could be the greatest Senate leader in history but he’d rather be a villified putz.

He’s a redshirt putz.

A religious test for office? Those wacky Democrats!

Time to go nuclear on the stupid “blue slip” filibusters described in this article. I had never heard of them, and I follow politics quite closely.
Our side needs to 1) avoid nominees from states with a dem senator, and 2) deep-six the “blue-slip” BS (there’s no comity in the Senate these days anyway - it is total cutthroat ideological warfare now, so we need to act like it).

When they are not administering religious tests, they are withholding “blue slips”`. The Democrats are worse than communist Russia.

All the nominees are for the Dems persons out of favor - in Russia they would have been 'disappeared' to Siberia or walked toward the exit in Lubyanka ... but not past it.

The flaccid quislings in the senate need to eliminate the arcane, useless “blue slip”. However, since they also are geldings and capons who despise President Trump, I wouldn’t count on it. There degenerates are traitors to their electorate. What’s new?

Odd way of withholding blue slips. As I wrote last month, Trump will have a RECORD 15 Circuit Court confirmations including a dozen blue slips.

Stras an exception, but many have come in.

Trump should finish 2017 with one more than JFK.

This is good. We may actually get the courts loaded up with judges who have not only heard of, but are familiar with, the Constitution.

Trump has wildly surpassed never Trumpers fears on judiciary. While I would have voted for my mailman over Hillary (never met the dude), I was a big Cruz supporter because of Scotus and Federal Judges. Once again, I and other Cruz supporters were wrong. Happy to admit it. Keep on winning!

Trump gave them what they wanted on the debt ceiling and DACA...and this is how they repay him. Not surprised.
