Price controls and anti-gouging laws ALWAYS lead to shortages. Always. Many have tried to defeat the laws of Supply and Demand. All have failed.
I hit the emergency pump stop yesterday. Jackwagon idiot tried filling his plastic 5 gal. containers while in his pickup truck bed which had a plastic bed liner. I approached him, nicely, and cautioned him about the possibility of static electricity. He blew me off so I told the clerk. No response, so I hit the clearly marked button as I left and drove away!
Yup. Having lived through the 2004 - 2005 hurricane seasons in FL I've long thought I'd rather have NO price controls. Gas was simply non-existent in some circumstances. Had the price allowed to fluctuate with demand there would have least been SOME gas for everyone instead of a a lot of gas for a few and none for everyone else.
