If we take action it may start with the destruction of the artillery near the DMZ that is pointed at Seoul. This might be initiated with a string of low-yield neutron weapons.
Next we would take out everything launched by the north shortly after takeoff...when it is totally vulnerable.
Then there might be a pause to see if Kim want’s to make a deal that exiles him but allows him to live.
It’s possible that a war on NK might result in only a few thousand dead...mainly the artillery crews.

There is a time for fighting and a time for FIGHTING. I don't doubt that NK poses some danger. I think 'lil Kim shows signs of inbreeding (i.e., he may be crazy), and it's a situation worth monitoring.
But insofar as the same Deep State that's thwarting Trump's agenda is also pushing a Hillaryesque warmongering theme, and given the preponderance of globalists that WANT us to nuke NK, I'd like to think all rational adults - old and young - have a solid basis for skepticism.

I also have NO doubt that Trump and Mattis aren't dumb like the prior administration. We have adults in the White House who do not signal the US' strategy on CNN.
I think a more plausible scenario with Trump and Mattis is Kim's Generals start dropping dead during team dinners. After a restless night's sleep, Kim awakens to this...
Psyops....We'd never know about it, but I suspect it would be VERY effective at neutralizing Kim. If you give it enough time, and get enough subversive element into NK, then maybe the poor people of North Korea will do a Ceaușescu on Kim.
The longer the wait as we redraw our red lines,we look more like a Paper Tiger to China and Russia. This is one of the hardest decisions that the POTUS/CIC has to make. In my estimation the only answer is War. All other options are a waste and weaken our status in the Pacific. Incidentally,Iran also watches. Nobody in their right mind wants War but what we face as enemies in the world are insane,diabolical and always plotting. We are being boxed in by enemies that are nuclear capable. I have a feeling the USA has very little will to first strike with a nuclear response.
