As true as that might be, and I don’t disagree at all, I have to admit this is pretty jarring. Doesn’t help that I’m already a little neurotic about shopping for produce and stuff at most of the chain grocery stores...
That’s probably why it’s jarring to you.
There is a youtube video that’s been around for a few years that shows, as a tiny yellow dot, every scheduled airplane flight in the world for a day. As the sun scans across the world you can see more and more flights appear to the point where the sunny part is almost a solid mass of yeallow except for solid lines going across the oceans.
I show it to people who are afraid of flying and say, “this is how many flights happen every single day and we have not had a single crash in years. You need not worry.” It actually works with many of them.
This is why I’m not afraid of terrorists in the US or a few lone wolfs poisoning food in a way that it is not detectable.
This is also why I don’t buy lotto tickets.
