Buchanan delivered his “Culture War” speech before the Republican National Convention on August 17 at the Houston Astrodome, where he feared for the “soul of America.” Twenty-five years later, when conservatives have ceded all control of the culture war to the Left, MTV’s Video Music Awards (VMAs, itself a bizarre oxymoron for an outlet that plays no videos) is now a forum about politics and the course of the country. Remember, back around the Reagan era, when they told us how American popular culture had such a corrosive effect on Socialist dictatorships?
Interesting that since then, Socialism has completely subverted and destroyed American popular culture - and all the dictatorships are still there.

25 years ago MTV actually had an audience. And A&E actually had something to do with Arts and was occasionally entertaining.
MTV is 13th on the list of top TV networks.
Watch USA and Showtime instead.
