Feds: 30% surge in illegals losing DACA freedom for crimes, gang violence
Washington Examiner ^ | September 6, 2017 | Paul Bedard

On the eve of President Trump deciding the status of the Obama era program deferring deportation for nearly 800,000 mostly Latin American young adults, federal immigration authorities are revealing a surge in those losing their freedom "due to criminality or gang affiliation concerns."

Officials told Secrets that the number has surged 30 percent this year.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services said that 622 had their deferred action status pulled this year due to criminal activity.

The numbers on revocations and terminations:

2013 -- 56.
2014 -- 153.
2015 -- 460.
2016 -- 848.
2017 -- 622.
Total -- 2,139.

According to USCIS, "The deferred action terminations were due to one or more of the following: a felony criminal conviction; a significant misdemeanor conviction; multiple misdemeanor convictions; gang affiliation; or arrest of any crime in which there is deemed to be a public safety concern. Most DACA terminations were based on the following infractions (not ranked): alien smuggling, assaultive offenses, domestic violence, drug offenses, DUI, larceny and thefts, criminal trespass and burglary, sexual offenses with minors, other sex offenses and weapons offenses."

In a recent case, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement arrested three DACA immigrants in a nationwide sweep of gangs.

The numbers are small by comparison to the larger DACA population but experts said it shows that not a lot is known about the activities of the youths, mostly young adults.

"It confirms that the DACA screening process was woefully inadequate. The eligibility bar was set very low, explicitly allowing people with multiple misdemeanor and certain felony convictions to be approved. Only a handful of the applicants were ever interviewed, and only rarely was the information on the application ever verified," said Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Washington-based Center for Immigration Studies.

She told Secrets, "this statistic undercuts the image of DACA that has been spread by the pro-illegal alien groups and the news media, that the DACA recipients are mostly college kids. This is not true. We don't know much about the population, but one of the few credible studies that has been done, by a scholar at Harvard University, found that at most are more than 22 years old, and only about 20 percent graduated from or attended a four-year college. A significant share never went beyond high school. This is not really all that surprising, since over 72 percent come from a family at or below poverty level and accessing some public assistance."

While the figures also show that many DACA recipients may be law followers and high achievers, but she said it shows that not all should be granted a form of citizenship if Trump extends the program.

"This suggests two important things that should happen if there is to be a legalization: not everyone with DACA should be guaranteed as eligible for legalization, and the existing legal immigration categories, especially the parents category and the extended family categories, should be trimmed back in order to minimize the fiscal and economic costs that the legalization will bring," said Vaughan.

Rush alluded to this article today. Under anti-legal Obama, I'm sure they played it fast in loose with their applications. They need to be double checked.

You would think that, in the current climate of Trump as POTUS and fear of deportation, they would be particularly careful about avoiding crime, if they wanted to stay here.

This increase in crimes and gang violence is probably actually understated to their normal behavior, because at least some are “being careful”, so as to not be caught and deported. IMHO anyway.

We spent a couple of years in Phoenix, 2007-2009. At the time, illegals were responsible for 80 to 85% of the violent crime. They cost the state of Arizona some $3 BILLION per year in terms not only of crime but also social “benefits”. They add nothing to our society or our economy. Deport.

One can’t help but suspect that during the Obama administration no one was trying real hard to identify and deport DACA recipients who are thugs.

The ones caught and convicted, is only a fraction of the ones who are not caught doing bad crimes and violence. I bet it’s more like half of the DACA illegals who do criminal behavior warranting being jailed.

Seriously. If I were here illegally, hoping and praying that somebody would cut me a break, I would be on my absolute best behavior.

Residing in the USA, the greatest country of the world, is a privilege, not a right.
Try leaving Toronto’s airport without providing proof of non-criminality, non-indigency or a work, student or travel visa.
The Canucks climb up Uranus and shine a tactical flashlight until they’re satisfied you’re kosher.

Question:

DACA is about illegal alien juveniles brought into our country by their parents.

What happened to all those unaccompanied juveniles that swarmed our borders a year or so ago? Remember them riding on the top of trains through Mexico on the way to the US border. They were continually in the news. The MSM is very quiet about their fate. Are they the next group to be the subject to bash Trump with?

Strange that Mexico has such tough immigration laws, but allows people to pass through them if they say they are on the way to the US.

There are no “law-abiding” illegal aliens.

I don't know...Maybe next time we're in a discussion with one of these people we should ask them to repeat this word just once so we know that it's possible to verbalize.

Say "Illegal" .... Ok good, now I know it's not a speech impediment or some brain blockage issue.

SO FRUSTRATING,

Obama’s border crashers are not eligible for DACA.
They were distributed around the country to their illegal alien families to blend in with the various barrios that exist in every US city.

Illegal immigration is colonization

So, let me get this straight. These illegals are here by no fault of their own, their parents brought them so they should be forgiven and allowed to stay.

On the other hand, I am at fault and should pay reparations for slavery, because it’s my relatives fault- even though non of my relatives owned slaves.

Um, ok.

A few years ago, talk radio in Phoenix was reporting that 90% of police deaths involved illegal aliens.

What is it about the word ILLEGAL that these fools don’t understand??????

More than a decade ago, I got called to be on a jury, grilled like crazy in juror seat #1 by the judge and attorneys. No excuse I made got me excused, I was forced to serve. It was about an illegal who broke into a company property to burglarize it and he was injured, and was suing the property owner. They kept calling the guy an "undocumented immigrant". Judge asks me one more time, "Can you be fair and impartial to this plaintiff?". I said in a loud voice "Yes, as long as this illegal alien wasn't doing anything illegal!". Courtroom busted up in much laughter. Judge excused me from jury duty on the spot. I learned that "they" were firmly in control and make up their own reality, so showing your "bias" can work for you to get excused.

“Seriously. If I were here illegally, hoping and praying that somebody would cut me a break, I would be on my absolute best behavior.”

But you have a brain, which is sorely lacking in most DACA kids.
