Joe Carr may challenge Bob Corker in GOP primary for Senate seat in Tennessee

Former state Rep. Joe Carr is laying the foundation to run against Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee in the Republican primary next year, accusing the incumbent of being too reluctant to back President Trump’s agenda.

He’s formed a political action committee dubbed “Stand Firm America” that raised $500,000 over the last three weeks, in what Mr. Carr said is an early show of support.

Mr. Carr becomes the latest insurgent hoping to use Mr. Trump as a cudgel in a Republican primary, making the president a critical dividing line within the GOP.

“There is a great opportunity for someone like myself to run against Sen. Corker and be victorious because there is an appetite for change, for someone to stand with President Trump, and stand up against the establishment of our party,” Mr. Carr told The Washington Times on Tuesday. “We are very, very serious.”

Mr. Corker has yet to announce he is running for re-election and his office did not return a request for comment.

Who is Larry Crim and what does that have to do with the story? That’s like asking what happened to Jeb Bush. Who cares?

Pray that TN Republicans can unite behind this guy - because that’s how the GOP-e cheats - by convincing 5 people to challenge a GOP-e incumbent in trouble, so that they split their vote.

Corker enabled the Iran deal, which has vastly increased terrorism throughout the world, enabled them to build rockets and develop their nuclear power industry (i.e. raw materials source for future nukes) and to help fund North Korea’s nuke and rocket programs. PHUCK YOU, CORKER!!!!

Carr is much stronger candidate than some random guy. If a bunch of minor candidates split the vote Corker can cruise by with under 50%.

According to Wikipedia, Carr lost to Lamar! in 2014 and lost to Diane Black in 2016.

This would explain Corker.

That he did, Lamar took just under 49.6% with 40.6% for Carr and the rest wasted on minor candidates. I don’t know he challenged Black last year, that race he lost in a landslide.

Crim on the other hand (says he lives in Antioch, your neighbor DJ)

http://www.ourcampaigns.com/CandidateDetail.html?CandidateID=253135

Has previously run in several rat primaries, getting pathetically small portions of the vote. This guy has no business running for the Senate at all let alone as a Republican.

If someone stronger than Carr is interested that would be great, but he’s lightyears ahead of the likes of Crim or other non-entities.

I discussed Carr on the TN forum board:

“We need to decide on someone to support to run against Lamar! next year. Why not Joe Carr ???”

Me: “Because Carr harmed himself greatly by making an ill-advised run against Diane Black last year in the 6th that he had no hope of winning. He’s still only a second tier candidate that exposed how weak Lamar! was if he had faced a first tier challenger with money. There’s no way he can match the corrupt Corker’s bankroll and to others, he is looked at as a perennial candidate.

Worse yet, Carr couldn’t even get Black’s open House seat nomination now since Rep. Judd Matheny will be carrying the banner for Conservatives in that district.

We’ve got to get a first-tier challenger to Corker and one that can raise $$ and get the base behind. Right now, that can either be State Sen. Mark Green or Marsha Blackburn.”

Carr couldn’t win as governor last election, and was the most conservative running.

Mark Green is also being floated, but he chickened out of a position in the Trump administration.

US Rep Marsha Blackburn maybe our best chance. Has high Conservative rating like 93%.

Corker has scandals galore, just google them, whole page of them. RINO.

For TN Governor MAE BEAVERS only CONSERVATIVE running. Rest support gas tax increase and amnesty. Not gun friendly either.
