I remember reading a statistic (long time ago, but still generally true, I’m sure) - it went something like this:
The United States does 20% of its trade with Canada.
Canada does 80% of their its with the United States.
They better watch who they piss off...they’re not in much of a position to be making demands.
The economy of the state of New York alone is about the size of Canada’s entire economy.
And note — New York’s population is 20 Million, Canada’s is 36 million.
