I never say this as a religious issue. It’s sadly just another example of how our police are acting these days.

Another example of cops too terrified to do the job we hired them to do effectively.

“I never say this as a religious issue.”

You might want to rethink this. The city’s affirmative-action program requires it to give preferential treatment to minorities, not only those hired by the city but by all contractors awarded contracts of more than $100,000. The city’s leaders bemoaned the fact that they could not come up with more blacks to staff 100 new positions that came open at the end of 2014. The Star-Tribune, in an Aug. 19, 2014, article headlined “Minneapolis police struggle to hire diverse force,” interviewed several activists who took the city to task for allowing the number of black officers to dwindle. The mediation agreement was a tool of the Obama Justice Department to pressure the city into hiring more black and Latino officers.

“Another example of cops too terrified to do the job we hired them to do effectively.”

That is a great statement but you stopped short. According to ABC news, from the nation’s largest police force in New York City to tiny departments with only five officers, far fewer people are looking to join the force than in years past, and departments of all sizes are being forced to rethink how they fill their ranks. This rethinking can also mean rethinking the quality, education, and the personality of the applicant just to get enough officers to keep the streets walked.

The same article further mentioned that the number of applicants are down more than 90 percent in some cities. A decade ago, there were 3,000 applicants for 10 openings with the Seattle police, the department says. Now there are 1,000 applicants for 70 positions — a drop of more than 90 percent. In Springfield, Miss., only 75 people applied for the police academy this month. But four years ago, they had 300. In Fairfax County, Va., an entrance exam advertisement would draw 4,000 people five years ago. Now, it brings in 300. And it hits the small town forces even worse as they don’t have the population to create the numbers they need.

So two things can happen, they can go without the coverage and crime will go crazy. Or they can lower some of the recognized standards of what has to be in the candidate officer.

And almost all of this is the intentional efforts of the, so called, help groups of people like BLM, ACLU, Sharpton, Jackson, and the media with their mis-reporting or under describing the actions so they can sell their newspaper and their TV/radio sponsors’ crap so they all can get rich. And you can tack on the idiotic and misleading Obama justice department that went wild getting into the two main ones and never found anything to prosecute anyone. But the media ate it up and they knew they would. One of those example is NBC and/or ABC doctoring pictures and the 911 tapes during Martin incident. They ruined Zimmerman’s life and tried to get him into it again after the trial was over and the facts got out. But that didn’t stop them. They had to protect their image. So they chased him for months afterwards trying to make him look bad. The other incident was with the officer that was forced to shoot Mike Brown and they had nothing on him as he followed procedure. But after the trial and after the grand jury cleared him, he wanted to rejoin Ferguson’s police force. But he was told that his presence would put other officers at risk. “They put that on me,” Wilson said. He worked for two weeks at a boot store, stocking inventory, but quit when reporters started calling the store. “No matter what I do, they try to get a story off of it,” he told reporters. Nobody knows where he is right now. I hope it stays that way. But they ruined his career and life.

Happens all the time. And that is why people don’t want to be cops. Not because they’re bad, but because they are persecuted and destined for failure. And it is further aided by having to hire people that shouldn’t be to fill that quota.
