Glenn Beck's The Blaze is enforcing 20% layoffs on its staff, a major sign of distress, all the more curious because the election of Donald Trump pretty well showed how significant the potential reader base out there might be. After all, most conservative websites are either doing well, or holding their own in the current tough media environment. Breitbart doesn't seem to have any trouble hiring new people, as the re-entry of Steve Bannon and maybe Sebastian Gorka can testify. Breitbart has also been expanding its overseas operations. The Wall Street Journal editorial page has been hiring, the Daily Caller seems to be picking up new talent.
So, what did Beck in? I can only speak for myself as a reader, but if you ask me, it was Beck himself. The guy just couldn't keep a steady editorial line. He puffed and pontificated, taking himself from tea party stalwart to the guy who was always complaining about conservatives, the very thing that did Jeb Bush in. Not to mention, he bawled a lot. But style points aside, his big problem was that in an era of Trump, he didn't like Trump. And it wasn't because he was a swamper, which has a certain logic, it was because he invented himself some biblical apocalyptic vision and cooked up a rationalization from it that Trump was a bad guy. Or something.

Or maybe he just got bought off.
Beck voted for Hitlery, yet, being a moron, he’s too stupid to see that as a reason for his demise.
He sold out and lost.
I tried to listen to his radio program but couldn’t stand it. Him and his sidekicks sounded like a bunch of 13 year kids. Just stupid.
God knows but it was sure one hell of a face plant.
Beck is drinking again.....among other things.
For a while when he was at his peak he was making a boatload of money. Hopefully he didn’t blow it all on the Blaze and he can fade into obscurity with a comfortable nest egg. His career as a pundit is over.
I used to be a loyal daily listener to his show. After last year when he started the Trump/Hitler/Nazi comparisons, I now immediately switch my radio from 9AM-Noon to another station. He has and will never get me back because of his insane tirades!
Glenn Beck did some great things at one time, then inexplicably began first to ridicule his own supporters (I think he may have been the first to coin the condescending term, "birther") and finally to trash their chosen candidate, Trump. It goes without saying that is not a recipe for success.
And his brief detour into fancying himself a modern-day Walt Disney didn't help.
Were I he, I would, too.
Very excessive crying
sudden and repeated announcement of some cataclysmic disease, later doesn’t pan out
Very high Cliffhanger promises of impending stories that never come to anything at all, not even any follow-up or explanation

He’s still on the air? I thought he’d be in a rubber room by now. He is nuts.
It certainly torpedoed my respect for him.
I axed the blaze subscription when Beck lost his mind during the primaries.
Since Glen went with Hillary, I avoid his radio show and tv network like they’re CNN or MSNBC. Too bad. I used to like him.
“But, you go ahead and run with your beliefs. “
I will. Were you in the booth with him to prove he didn’t vote for her??
He campaigned against Trump and supported Hitlery, yet, you gullibly and naively believe he voted for Trump?
Don’t be an idiot.
He was charismatic enough that he could fool you once and some people would still come back.
but you can’t do that with most people 2 times and you certainly can’t do that with anyone 10 times:
On a pretty regular basis he was promising Blockbuster Revelations and then just doing nothing about it. How many times did you hear statements like:
“7 days from now when you tune in you will wake up in it in a republic that has been permanently and fundamentally altered..!”
it ticks people off pretty fast.
