Increasingly aggressive, expansionist Russia obviously see the US as their main obstacle to their basically bringing back the Soviet Union, or something not too unlike it. Communist or not, it would still be an 'evil empire' led by a KGB/FSB power hungry assassin thug.

No doubt.....but, from their perspective it is Russia itself which is soon to be under attack from NATO forces on its’ border.....And, possibly, Putin might have further enabled NK as a defensive move against NATO/US/UK aggression.
We the People will have to live with the consequences of the mistakes made by the DEEP STATE lib-fools.
