A deadly shooting in Meadowview over the weekend related to a trio of local rappers and the gangs who support them pushed the Sacramento City Council to immediately approve a controversial gun-violence prevention program that targets the handful of young men suspected of being behind most of the violence.

TOPICS: Culture/Society
KEYWORDS:
along with a stipend of up to $1,000 a month for nine months — to help participants move away from violence.

So they are going to pay these worthless thugs $1,000 per month not to shoot somebody? Pay me $1,000 a month and I won't shoot anybody. Better yet pay me $1,000 and I'll shoot some of these retrograde pant loads.

Can we get paid retroactively for all the months we haven’t shot anybody?

So...
What’s the profit on $1000 worth of heroin or stolen guns?

The white liberal solution to everything. Use someone else’s money for a program that fails, but it’ll make them feel good inside and give them status points with their fellow libs!

"The Meadowview shooting took place at a popular neighborhood park Sunday afternoon during a video shoot for C-Bo, whose given name is Shawn Thomas. Four people were injured and one man, 49-year-old Ernie Jessey Cadena, was killed.

"The promotion of the video shoot, also billed as a unity barbeque in the wake of the escalating violence, may have drawn the notice of supporters of rival rappers, said community activist Berry Accius."

Add "unity barbeques" to the list of "healing events" that includes funerals, "in memoriam" rap concerts, and candlelight vigils to stay away from.

The article is not very clear. The city is going to give the money to Advance Peace, an organization of thugs ... with no strings attached!

“Pioneered in Richmond, the program is credited by city leaders there for significantly reducing gun crime”

What has reduced gun crime in Richmond is the changing demographics of the city. People are priced out of San Francisco and are moving to cities such as Oakland and Richmond. The gentrification of these cities has resulted in less violent crime.

A good friend of mine is a classical violinist. He’s obviously hiding something about his secret life, since he’s not reported a single shooting arising from his hobby.

“The Advance Peace program in Sacramento would target about 50 young men, mostly black and Latino, who are thought by police and city leaders to be responsible for most gun violence in the city”

White supremacist?

Here's a likely scenerio...

(Police)

Drop that gun!

If you do not, you face a year and a half of cognitive behavioral therapy and a stipend of $1,000 per month.

Don't make us call the Advance Peace life coaches!

Not that long ago Sacramento was among the more sane parts of California. I guess not any longer.

As long as the left has one party rule in California that state is toast!

“Tough Crowd!”

The (Meadowview) High School student paper runs a regular obituary column!

The English teacher asked, “Who can tell me what comes at the end of a sentence?”

Julio raised his hand for the first time ever. He replied, “File an appeal, esé!”

With apologies to Rodney Dangerfield...

Now if they do shoot someone, the pathetic fools in the city council will conclude that the $1000 wasn’t enough of an incentive, so they’ll hit them with a $5000 incentive package.
