However, Colorado transportation and public safety officials say the rising number of pot-related traffic fatalities cannot be definitively linked to legalized marijuana.

Except that there is an increasing incidence of it being found in the blood of the dead drivers, according to the article. As with everything related to pot, there is a whole lot of denial going on.

The article is short on facts.

Do you trust the media?

Whatever you do or say never jeopardize the hundreds of millions of pot taxes going into State coffers.

Disclaimer: The last time I touched pot was in 1977.

I’m wondering in how many cases the pot was the cause of the accident. Same thing is true with traffic accidents and deaths involving a driver that had alcohol in their blood.

I think when the number of deaths caused by drivers impaired by dope starts approaching the number caused by drivers impaired by alcohol, we may want to take another look at making the penalty for stoned driving as severe as that for drunk driving. Or do we already?

The denial is there, alright, except it’s yours.
All the drivers would test positive for hemoglobin, too, but that doesn’t mean it is a factor in their deaths.

I’ve always thought that if they actually tested for weed in all accidents, they’d find it more often than not...

Lying with STATISTICS, I do not smoke but I did in the 60S, long before most of the knee jerk reactions here, and there was not an EPIDEMIC of people dying from smoking Pot...there is an increasing incidence of it being found in the blood of the dead drivers, citation required..
