Republicans should target Democrats not their own party
FoxNews ^ | 8/24/2017 | Newt Gingrich

Posted on 08/27/2017 3:04:11 PM PDT by Tennessean4Bush

The elite news media loves it when Republicans attack Republicans.

The leftwing reporters, editors, producers, television personalities, and analysts all find it exciting to watch Republicans try to damage each other.

If a moderate Republican attacks a traditional, more conservative Republican, the former is often lionized as a heroic figure for putting citizenship above partisanship.

He is right as far as it goes.

But Repubs who run on one thing and consistently betray their supposed ideals deserve to be called out.

Republicans aren't targeting their own party. They are targeting their own voters.

Big difference. Once we get that concept through our thick skulls, we'll be able to do something about it.

Just because I'm registered WITH the Republican Party doesn't mean I'm a PART of the Republican Party.

At least not as far as those who run the Republican Party are concerned.

What if we target the Democrats in the Republican party?

John McCain is the leader of backstabbing other Republicans in the back. Now he has groomed Arizona Senator Jeff Flake as his replacement.

You’re failing to realize one important item, author: Republicans, as a party, are all talk and no action.

There’s a reason that Bush, even with control of the house, didn’t reign in spending, didn’t promote government accountability, and didn’t reign in the scope of federal government... and there’s a reason that Obama kept many of his policies in place. There is a measure of truth in the term ‘uniparty’ — and if we are measuring the fruit, then we can see that the Republican party is constantly betraying its own base.

Republicans are viciously attacking their voting fodder. They assume we have no where to go.

I've got a revelation for them. If the Deplorable Agenda doesn't prevail, the nation is going down and so are they. Might as well hand the mess to the dems and concentrate on self-preservation.

Before that could happen, the vast majority of 'em would require testicular implants, so don't hold yer breath.

Newt is wrong on this one. The RNC and the GOP Establishment both need to be torn down to the roots. Limited Government Conservatives need to replace the Democrat Lite backstabbers that we have today. Primary virtually all of them out.

Republicans have always shot their wounded.

Actually, lately the GOPe has been utilizing the VC/NVA protocol of burying (alive) their wounded. Sometimes even for wounds as serious as a hangnail.

Truly despicable creatures.

No, Newt does not have it right. The question is why the rinos are attacking Trump every chance they get....any other time in history they would be enjoying the power of being on top.

With all the spying that went on in the Obama administration....maybe it is time to start publically calling that angle out. Because rino behavior in not normal....especially since Trump is no conservative and should have naturally been a rino partner. Someone is being held hostage.

I agree. Conservative Republicans should try to defeat all non-conservatives.

Republicans would be the unquestioned dominant party now if they hadn’t spent so much time over the years fighting each other instead of the ‘rats - who doesn’t like who, who’s not a real conservative, who said something at a birthday party that might make him a racist because a bunch of left wing thugs say he is - Democrats want to win and line up with each other, keeping their disagreements underground until they’ve moved together to their goal - Republicans are prima donnas more interested in proving they’re right than in working toward helping the country.....

Agreed. When the Republican House strangled Trump’s proposed budget and cynically funded the same big government programs, it became obvious that they are little more than Democrats. I notice that, with the exception of Trump, elections that put one party in power over the other are occasions for nothing more than the exchange of talking points.

That this even needs to be said illustrates why the GOP is known as The Stupid Party.

I don’t quite agree with Newt. There are some in the GOP who need to be challenged in the primary. If we win, great. If not, we need to support a RINO over a democrat (even if reluctantly).
