The right to free speech wasn’t abused, it’s just that there are known consequences for stating idiotic things when the right is exercised.
Most people believe that free speech rights extend to there being no consequences for the exercise thereof. This is a logical fallacy. Say what you want, but don’t expect everyone to tolerate and approve of what you say - expect that there may be consequences and accept them.

I have no idea what you mean by this but there is a difference between the leftists blocking traffic illegally and protester groups who actually get a permit to protest and walk down the middle of a street. I could care less about protesters who protest on the side of the street out of the road either. If they impede the flow of traffic with their bodies though; they are committing a grievous and potentially lethal error in judgment.
If illegal protesters are blocking traffic due to some idiotic cause they believe in and my loved one needs emergency medical attention and they might die if I don’t plow through the illegal protesters; I’m driving right through them then deal with the legal ramifications later. It wouldn’t even take a second to make that decision.
The only good news is that he has already found another job; he was commenting on running down the commies when they block the streets and riot, not Trump supporters.
