Anti-fascist protesters want Balbo monument in Chicago removed

Anti-fascist protesters in Chicago are now demanding a monument gifted by Italian dictator Benito Mussolini be taken down.
About 50 protesters, some of whom traveled from Rockford and Indiana, gathered around the Balbo monument in Burnham Park, where they railed against city officials for allowing a greenish breccia column to stand as a tribute to a fascist regime.
The monument is an ancient Roman pillar seated atop a large stone base that reads, in part: "Fascist Italy with the sponsorship of Benito Mussolini presents to Chicago" this commemoration of a flight by Balbo "in the 11th year of the Fascist Era."
It was gifted by Mussolini in 1934 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Gen. Italo Balbo leading an armada of Italian planes on a trans-Atlantic flight from Rome to Chicago for the Century of Progress World's Fair. Chicago's formerly named 7th Street was also renamed Balbo Drive for him.
John Beacham, a coordinator with Answer Chicago and leader of Wednesday's protest, said the organization has started an online petition requesting the monument's removal and the renaming of the downtown street for celebrated Chicago journalist Ida B. Wells. The petition had garnered nearly 300 signatures by Wednesday afternoon.

We’re just doing it in a much shorter time as we have a free society versus the dictatorship they morphed into so there’s less control on the downslope.

Post Caesar Augustus the mob became more and more disillusioned with the concept of a dictator yet the return to Senate rule (small ‘R’ republic) was unattainable. Caligula and then Claudius helped speed this up as under them the legions in the North began to falter in their allegiance. Once the construct came undone under Nero, it was too late.
We have the same thing starting to happen here. The mob is beginning to exact it’s rule and just as the legions were not allow inside Rome, the US military is not allow inside it’s borders (with good reason).
So.......you get what we see now. A gov’t that is not representing the people but the power base and a lack of desire at the local level to disburse and eradicate the irrational actions of the mob.
On this path probably our great grandkids will not know how truly great this country used to be.

The “confederate statue” agenda is not working, as its logic extends even to the founders like Washington and Jefferson.
So the violent left is now scouring the country for actual “fascist” monuments. Maybe they are hoping to see all the “whites” run out to protect them.
