As for Cook...he compacted ten life-times into a fifty-year span. His entire life reads like some epic novel.
The folks who are trashing his statue, are probably avid followers of Peter Pan.

Australia still honors the EUREKA REBELLION rebels whose rebellion only lasted an hour. The Eureka flag is proudly flown by many.
In Canada, Louis Riel, hanged for treason and murder is still honored with statues and memorials.
In the USA, George Washington is now hated, same for Jefferson, Jackson, Lee, Davis, even Lincoln. Their monuments and flags are destroyed on sight by many.
Did the Aborigenes in any way document their discovery?
