Did the authorities of the city of Charlottesville have a duty to protect Unite the Right rally attendees?

I like you Mr Williams, but you of all people know damn well that the Courts have already ruled on this and it is SET IN STONE that :

” NO Police Officer in the United States hyas a legal duty to protect the citizenry, and that the only legal duty they have is to the political entity that employs them.””

Though I understand and agree with your sentiments on this issue, it is nothing more than an intellectual exercise in futility.

I think they meant that failing to protect a group was the same as refusing the right to assemble.

That begs the question, then why even be there, in force, in gear?

It's one thing to say that the police have no obligation to respond to a call for help, but what is the obligation when they are already there in force, with armor, and lined up at the ready?

Haven't they already crossed the committal line by then?

“NO Police Officer in the United States has a legal duty to protect the citizenry”

I didn’t know that. Show us a statute.
