We have no business in Afghanistan.

We can simply kill anything that can damage the US with B-52s. And yes, that includes terrorist training camps and unfriendly governments.

Cheap, 500lb bombs and lots of them.

Almost as depressing as the further loss of treasure and young lives is the reality that our leaders, including our military leaders, are this mind bendingly moronic.

I’m sorry for the more moderate Afghanis that will suffer brutal retaliation.

But - GET OUT NOW.

We have no business being in Afghanistan

Or Libya, Egypt, Syria, Ukraine, Sudan,...... So how do we unravel 28 years of presidencies either hell-bent on the global domination script or too lazy to stop it?

What I'd do is stay long enough to give each local government the opportunity to elect leaders without our interference. We certainly no longer have moral authority to be an example of respecting the results of elections and the peaceful transfer of power. Don't support any national government, financially or otherwise. Have another election with us helping the military with security, but no more picking winners. Then leave.

We were better off when we weren't blowing up Muslim countries. When they were stable, the Muslims stayed in their homelands.
