Where have you been today?
Gary Lewis & the Playboys were an American 1960s era pop and rock group, fronted by musician Gary Lewis, the son of comedian Jerry Lewis. They are best known for their 1965 Billboard Hot 100 number-one single This Diamond Ring, which was the first of a string of hit singles they had in 1965 and 1966.
RIP.
I saw Jerry Lewis perform at the old Cherry Hill NJ “Latin Casino theater about 1963 or so. It was during the early “Freedom Rides” protests (which I’ll expound upon in a minute).
Our family friends had gotten a front row table to the stage for their daughter who was turning 16 or 18. Lewis was fantastic, a ball of fire, a fury of life and fun. We could see that he was perspiring a lot as he mopped his head with a handkerchief quite often.
After the show was over, we were supposed to go back stage to meet him and get his autograph. His aides told us that only one person would be able to meet him and get autographs for all of us since Lewis was actually running a very high fever and had a cold.
Nobody knew these during the show except his crew. Lewis told them that he had to go on because the people came to see him.
This man was a real stage “trooper” and an even greater humanitarian. Shalom, Jerry. You’ve earned your rest and those whose lives you helped to save will never forget you.
Where have you been today?

Are you implying that one cannot have a life outside of FR?
A search will show that Jerry Lewis obits were posted here 8 and 10 hours ago... and this Fox News article is new
RIP. One of the greats.
Why do people have such trouble with the word, “trouper”?
Okay, trouper... like grouper
France in mourning....Rest in Peace, Jerry...you and Dean Martin will now entertain GOD...
“Why do people have such trouble with the word, ‘trouper’?
After reading your comment I looked up the word Trouper and was pleasantly surprised that I had always thought, though rarely used, the word Trouper, that it was actually spelled Trouper. I had assumed all these years that being a good Trouper was spelled as Troop (as in army Troop).
What is even more amazing is that my Android spell check actually spelled it correctly as Trouper!
RIP funny man ..
Look at CNN reporting that Jerry Lee Lewis died:

The scene in The Nutty Professor where Lewis makes the dean play Hamlet and the where he makes the bartender mix a drink kills me. I have those scenes DVRd when I need a good laugh.
Wikipedia says he criticized Obama, wanted to keep dangerous refugees out, voiced support of Trump and admired Reagan. I didn’t know that.
RIP.
I wish they’d release that infamous concentration camp movie he made.
