In the United States alone, we have the Socialist Party, the Socialist Action Party, the Socialist Alternative Party, the Socialist Equality Party, the Socialist Workers Party, and the Socialism and Liberation Party.

We should organize a televised debate between their party leaders over whose brand of Socialism is better, and why. I bet most voters wouldn't be able to tell any of those parties apart from the "mainstream" Democrats around today.

“Elder Cleavage” as Archie Bunker called him. He ran in the 1986 U.S. Senate GOP primary (lost to the liberal Republican Ed Zschau). He placed 9th out of 13 candidates, right behind the son of ex-Sen. Bill Knowland.

Bruce Herschensohn should’ve gotten the nomination, and might’ve had he faced a runoff with Zschau.
