Of course the BBC is getting this wrong. Probably on purpose. Trump said time and time again that he deplored the racist groups of the right. On script and off script he was against violence on the far right. He was against hatred on the far right. Never was he for it. And he came out by name against NAZIs and the KKK as he has done over and over again.
What is at issue here is whether there was hatred and violence on both sides. That is the issue. The BBC seems to think that the vigilantes are only on the right. And Trump also said there were some good guys on the right who just wanted their statues. I don’t know about the good guys. But its clear that the left had fly-in vigilantes who were organized and were prepared with all the vigilante weapons that they used at Trump rallies and Berkley events. It was all the same thing. So these guys were organized thugs.
And why does Trump hang on this issue. Its because these same people attack good people who only want to support Trumps rallies. Trump hates these thugs because they attack his people. And Trump is protecting his people. His people are not NAZIs or KKK. At least 99% aren’t. NAZIs and KKK have always been there. And they have voted for democrats as well as republicans over the years. Trump is like that stallion who attacks the danger while the herd has time to escape. Trump will take all the hits to protect his people.
Now I wish he would articulate that. And I wish he would stop saying their were good people on the right in Charlottesville. Maybe there were a handful. But not the majority. The majority were not good. They were not there to support Trump. They were grandstanding. America should have nothing to do with NAZIs. NAZIs were not right. They were big government race haters. There is nothing good about NAZIs. And they are more left than right. If you change the race NAZIs hate to whites and the religion they hate to Christians then the NAZIs and today’s left are the same.
Same with the KKK. They are just like union thugs. They strong arm people through crimes and threats. This is not republican. This is the mob. And unions and the mob have always voted left. They do not belong on our side and they are not conservative. Tea Partiers are conservative. They demonstrate peacefully. They vote for small government and they stay within the law.
I don’t mind Trump standing up for us. I like it. But at the same time I hate watching him get brutalized. But what I really want is to see him articulate his argument better. Don’t speak to the left. They hate us. Speak to the right. Make a clear argument that we can repeat over and over to our family and friends. Don’t try to appease the left. They will always get it wrong on purpose.
