This needs to be seen for exactly what it is:

1: Very wise words from a very wise long-term, intense, Conservative, important Trump supporter.

2: Thankfully, a prescription to remedy the problem.

3: Not in any way an attack on the president, but rather a well-charted course to remedy some very obvious problems besetting him.

Please remember; as the 10% Far Right, we have an incredible loyalty to Mr. Trump. For example, we are far more loyal then most Republicans in Congress. Sometimes that loyalty leads to our "choosing to not see" some the problems he is currently experiencing, at least in the minds of the other 90% of Americans.

35% will always hate him, but the others are ready to be brought back into the fold, if the proper tactics are used.

That said, perhaps more then anyone else, we want him to succeed and know there are steps he can take to ensure his success. Newt describes them better than anyone.

What is Gingrich proposing Trump do, exactly?

When you step on the toes of DC’s entrenched ideology and greed, they will attack you, fiercely. I see no way to avoid the fight, unless you become Jeb Bush.

I don’t see how he can have a stable presidency with so many evil people, including his own party, out to destroy him. What he has done for the economy alone should have already given him amazing coverage. The game has changed.

Like I have said all along. The position we find ourselves in was easily predictable a year ago. I even posted as much back then. The Rats are willing to do whatever it takes to neuter him and the GOPe is willing to play along. As much as it pains me to point this out, in the historical record there have been leaders who have found themselves in similar situations and have succesfully overcome these very same obstacles. I won’t mention any names.

It seems a bit presumptuous for Gingrich to think Trump even WANTS a "stable presidency," whatever that means.

I also think it's a real stretch to think Trump can do anything to get Republicans in line. The recent ObamaCare vote in the Senate told us everything anyone needed to know about where the GOP stands.

As a business analyst, I often ask “stupid” questions that turn out to not be so stupid. I don’t ask them to get the obvious answer. Rather, I ask them to get the business to go in a certain direction, mentally, that can get to the real information that we all need to face.

i.e. Trump is not a normal politician. He is using a different rule book. Time will tell if he is going to be more productive than if he plays the game “normally”.

There may be a method to his madness. The amazing success with North Korea was not accident.

The VJ Machine is fully capable of taking out any Politician they want.
Until, the DOJ starts putting people in prison, this will not change in any foreseeable future.

Too bad he does not have Newt as Speaker of the House to remind Congress of where they are all going if Trump goes down
Maybe they forgot there is one Ship of State and that the crew goes down with the Captain

We the people silent majority haven't had to figure out how to become “ ungovernable” by an unrepresentative entrenched class - but I’m sure we can figure it out

Many Freepers like Newt almost as much as he likes himself, but it becomes apparent why he’s not included in Trump’s administration.

Trump is not in trouble. The economy and stock market are good and large numbers of Americans aren’t dying in some foreign conflict he started.

Hey Newt, if you are concerned for President Trump you know how to reach him. Quit airing your concerns like a “Concern Troll” out in public reinforcing doubts that some people have.

Totally disagree. There is a reason Newt was not CoS. This is it. He feeds the fire.

No, you don’t go around and cater to the imbeciles who want you to “moderate” and “temper” your statements so that you say nothing.

Trump has said nothing wrong. Period. Any suggestion by anyone that he has indicates they don’t understand the battle we are waging.

No, we are not the “10% far right.” ALL polls indicate Trump has lost zero support from his base (basically the 62m who elected him). He has gained some.

Newt seems oblivious to changes in voter registrations since Trump. Instead, he bases this on how many in Congress are “willing to stand up for him.” BS. These are PRECISELY the people we need to get rid of.

Have you forgotten his inauguration speech? Do you think ANY will forgive him? He was talking about THEM and they knew it.

Newt needs to get on board, speak less, and work more.

Nothing new. The RINOs have been doing their best to thwart Trump since day one.

The RINOs are the reason there is a Trump. WE’VE HAD IT WITH YOU.

Newt doesn’t say $4it. If he has real advice give it. He sounds like all the other inside the Beltway pundits, full of himself with nothing actually to say.

President Newt -- I mean, NON-President Newt -- also gave Trump all kinds of advice to then candidate Trump, as to what he was doing wrong in his campaign to win the presidency.   (Just do a Google search on "newt gingrich's advice for candidate trump", without the quotes, to see lots of examples of that unsolicited advice, which Trump ignored.)
