Saw El CID when I was 12, always remember the scene where they tie him to the horse and he attacks the moors, great movie.

The film EL CID is still available on DVD. I happen to have a beautiful restored copy of the film. It is part of a two film set with FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE as the second DVD.
There are also several copies of pirated versions out there that were made when El Cid was not released about 10 years ago. I also have a decent copy of a pirated version.

It took a little over 780 years to get them out.
It started in 711 and their last hold in Granada fell in 1492.

The sad part is Europe has learned NOTHING from it.
