You bet it was a surprise! It also gives me hope that maybe — just maybe — it is obvious to some people on the other side that they have grossly overplayed their hand on this one. Here in New York City, people are (legally) scurrying around town, removing plaques from trees and buildings and sidewalks. Perhaps it’s occurring to some of the saner lefties that this is never going to end and that THEY are the ones who have kicked this off. By demonizing Trump to a degree I have never seen in my lifetime...where do they go from here? Whom are they going to blame when Black Lives Matter demands that Thomas Jefferson statues be brought down? Do people realize the Lincoln Memorial was defaced last night? Was that Trump’s fault?
Let’s give Chris Matthews credit, folks. I’m not being sarcastic. We are fighting for our country and we need all the help we can get.
It’s totally insane. It’s like they’ve been unleashed, and they’re taking down anything in their path.
I hope they’ve overplayed their hand, but it almost seems to me as if most of the more “respectable” left is now rushing to join them - with a few surprising exceptions.
