Fox News, televisions equivalent of a presidential safe space, kept up its steadfast defense of President Trump even as he faced an uproar this week over his response to the violence at a white supremacist rally in Virginia last Saturday. Anchors like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson praised the president and lauded his bare-knuckle criticism of the news media.
But notably, some pundits broke ranks. Eboni K. Williams, a host of the 5 p.m. show The Specialists, derided Mr. Trump in exceptionally blunt terms, calling his initial remarks about the rally cowardly and dangerous and accusing the president of minimizing blatant, flagrant hatred rather than risk roiling a portion of his base.

I don’t ever recall the New York Times reporting positively on Fox News anchors attacking Obama.
Why is that?
I stopped watching Fox News years ago
Eboni? Is that short for “Ebonics?”
What’s Fox?

More like “The Special Needs Crew”

A few generalists would be much better.
I would sure like a link to her facebook or website to offer a respectful opinion. I think the show in general is a joke, esp without Eric Bolling. You have a handful of 30 year olds with no real life experience or knowledge of history telling the president of our United States what he should do.
I turned them off when she double downed the other day. It took courage for Trump to say what he did.
He’s not a man to step away from a fight esp when he thinks he’s right.
I have no idea why he continues to argue with the media. Let someone else deal with them.
Just another black saddled with a silly name because... who knows.
If Laura Ingraham gets a prime time show and ‘The Five’ goes back to five o’clock, ‘The Specialists’ are toast anyway.
Will the NYT write an article about the Missouri Democrat Congresswoman who posted on Facebook that she hopes Trump gets assassinated?
Didn’t think so.
I saw her and Kat yesterday too. I won’t watch them anymore.
I saw that diatribe. Talk about an entitled example of racist trash! I’ve been a Fox News follower from its beginning but that outburst, and the channel’s transformation into MSNBC-Lite, are the end for me. My dial now stays on OAN.
FOX NEWS is now on my “NEVER watch that crap again”, like the NFL, NBA, CBS, etc, etc, etc.
I don’t believe for a moment that the President’s comments were based on concern for the miniscule vote of white suporemecists or neo-Nazia, yet that’s what the registered “Independent” Eboni recklessly charged.
Bless her heart... No, it was brave of Trump to call out both groups for what they are. Problem is, the accepted mantra is white anything is the greater evil and Trump didn’t pander to that. Everything Trump said regarding the Charlottesville Antifa riot was true and accurate. To overemphasize the culpability of the white supremacists is simply pandering. The Antifa started the fight with the help of Terry McCauliff, et al.
It was probably one of the Murdoch sons hoping it would boost ratings on that stupid show. I tried watching it a few times, horrible. Even worse w/out Bolling and the show is worse than the 5.
She is actually very bright, articulate and poised.
I wish she was on our side.
