If Democrats seeking the removal of historical memorials tied to racist history are serious, they should be tripping over one another to get in front of a camera and call for the removal of memorials and namesakes to Presidents Andrew Johnson, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Lyndon Baines Johnson, and Sen. Robert C Byrd.
These five men had two things in commonall had a penchant for racism to one degree or another, and all were Democrats.
Some of the memorials to them are monuments, some are groves, others are highways, bridges, colleges, and even cemeteries. Of course, the cemeteries ought not be disturbed, but they should be renamed if the Democrats are serious about rooting out the vestiges of racism.
What follows is a short description of each of the Democrats and the memorials and/or namesakes in their honor:

PING!
You can't gore MY ox!!
All current memorials will be targeted, eventually. Right now, they are picking off the low hanging fruit..
We are so lucky that Hillary isn’t in the oval office now....
Monuments are among the first things to go as Islam takes over a region or people.
I believe the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, just south of Washington, DC, should be renamed the Harriet Tubman Memorial Bridge. Democrat Wilson tried to implement racist policies in the Federal Government and got us into an unnecessary war, while gun-toting Republican Harriet Tubman helped to free slaves.
And all the inner city schools named after these racists!!!
It should be called “The Petey Greene Bridge” because he was playa.
Absolutely, by the logic of left-wingers, then all monuments and statues of all those men must be removed from Washington DC and all federal property. It has to be a clean sweep or nothing at all. It’s hypocritical and irrational to just remove statues of Confederate generals.
1. They won’t be.
2. They aren’t.
IIRC, Woodrow Wilson re-segregated the federal workforce, after black and white federal workers had been integrated since the 1880s.
In order to get rid of indoctrinated racism, you need to get rid of the instigator bullies, not the lifeless statues.
You can go back thousands of years and find ancient monuments destroyed for some reason, and wonder..”What were these idiots thinking!”
Akhetaten’s temple complex,
The Serapeum in Egypt,
The Roman Forum
The Christian statues in Constantinople during an Iconoclastic purge.
Savanarola’s destruction of iconoclasts.
The Protestant destruction of Catholic art.
Anything the moslems touched.
The statue of King George III,
The Confederate statues.
No doubt in the future people will say again, “What were these idiots thinking!”
The US Army has in storage a large amount of Nazi art from that time. They did not destroy it.
Let’s not forget the founder of the Democrat party, Andrew Jackson, who nearly destroyed the Cherokee with his forced relocation policy, best know as the Trail of Tears!
I am sure the folks who burned the library at Alexandria thought they were social justice warriors as well.
(There had to be _some_ bad stuff in it, right. :-( )
Elihu Yale (5 April 1649 8 July 1721) was a British merchant, philanthropist and slave trader, President of the East India Company settlement in Fort St. George, at Madras, and a benefactor of the Collegiate School in the Colony of Connecticut, which in 1718 was renamed Yale College in his honor.[1]
No...this ACCEPTS the premise that it is ok to rewrite USA history. NO MONUMENTS should be taken down.
And Washington DC must be renamed.
Can’t have the capital city of the country named after a known slave owner!

In March of 2007, FOX News host Sean Hannity had engaged Obama's pastor in a heated interview about his Church's teachings. For many viewers, the ensuing shouting match was their first exposure to "Black Liberation Theology"...
Like the pro-communist Liberation Theology that swept Central America in the 1980s and was repeatedly condemned by Pope John Paul II, Black Liberation Theology combines warmed-over 1960s vintage Marxism with carefully distorted biblical passages. However, in contrast to traditional Marxism, it emphasizes race rather than class. The Christian notion of "salvation" in the afterlife is superseded by "liberation" on earth, courtesy of the establishment of a socialist utopia.
